Two Charged Regarding Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident

Formal charges have been brought against two men following a suitcase robbery where a substance thought to be capsaicin spray caused injuries at the UK's busiest airport.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two counts of robbery and charges for using a harmful chemical, according to official statements.

The charges follow an probe of an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Before the assault occurred, two female travelers had their luggage stolen after exiting a parking garage elevator, police said.

A toddler was caught up in the incident during the incident. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were eventually allowed to go home.

The incident – described by police as was isolated and not being treated as terrorism – resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
